die dritte box in drei jahren von RCA/BMG heisst from nasheville to memphis - the essential 60's masters 1 und macht ihrem namen alle ehre. immerhin enhält die box alle studioaufnahmen der sechzigerjahre mit ausnahme der gospel und soundtracks. ein vorzügliches produkt, zu dem allerdings das gospel who am i!? und love me tender/witchcraft aus der sinatra-show nicht recht passen.willkommen sind die vollständigen verionen von i'll remember you guitar man /what'd i say (endlich!) und hi-heel sneakers sowie ein besonders schönes intro zu ode to billy joe. ebenfalls dabei sind das original suppose vom märz 1967, ein nicht überspielter outtake von i the ghetto mit einer akustischen gitarre in der hauptrolle sowie ein kurzes aufwärmen im studio mit it's my way (ein satz). this time (zwei) undi can't stop loving you (viel ruhiger als die späteren liveversionen).
allws in allem ist diese box ein würdiger nachfolger der complete 50's masters das haben auch die einzelhändler begriffen: die box holt in den USA fast schon durch vorbestellungen gold (100'000-mal fünf cd's. ;-)
