LOS ANGELES (die-news) - Priscilla Presley will bei der nächsten Staffel von "Dancing With The Stars" mitmischen. Die Witwe von Elvis Presley soll die Verhandlungen mit den Produzenten der Show aufgenommen haben, so amerikanische Medienberichte. Außerdem sollen bei den nächsten Staffel Joan Collins und Schauspielerin Florence Henderson dabei sein, sicher ist das aber noch nicht.

In der letzten Staffel von "Dancing With The Stars" war beispielsweise Mel B. von den "Spice Girls" mit von der Partie.

I just got word that Priscilla Presley has signed on, or is close to signing on, to compete in the next season of ABC’s hit dance competition show.

I kid you not.


Nothing's official just yet, but if Ms. Presley goes through with it, the 62-year-old grandmother and former wife of the late Elvis Presley will become the oldest woman to compete on the show. Jane Seymour competed last season at age 56.

The oldest man to do some waltzing is George Hamilton, who gave it a try at age 66 in season two.

I’m told Hamilton’s former Dynasty costar Joan Collins was in talks for some time with Dancing producers, but a deal was never made. Collins is 74!

A rep for the show said she "can't confirm or deny casting rumors for the show." Presley's rep said Presley stated she is not "confirmed to do Dancing." The rep could not confirm nor deny that Presley has been in talks with producers.

Sollte das ganze stimmen, naja es dürfte lustig werden, denn die jüngste ist sie ja auch nicht mehr.

Sehe ich auch so! Hoffentlich geht das mal nicht nach hinten los. Sie mag sich zwar optisch mit allen Mitteln jung halten wollen, aber die "alten" Knochen lassen sich davon nicht beeindrucken.

Ist das nicht die amerikanische Version von unserer "Let's dance Promi-tanzshow, die irgendwann mal im TV lief?
Da war doch mal Katja Ebstein, Generation von Cilla, welche den 2. Platz
im Partnertanz belegte. Ich sah das Ganze und fand es toll, sie hatte eine Superfigur, lange schmale Beine und auch das Outfit stimmte.
Von fit und gelenkig garnicht zu reden. Fand ich richtig gut!
Paartanz ist nicht mein Fach....kein Interesse.....seh es aber gern...

Aber immerhin, sie steht zu Ihrem Alter, wieviele Promis können das von sich behaupten? Naja in Deutschland mehr als in USA stimmt schon.

Genau, das finde ich auch - Natur pur.
Ich bin ja nicht so ein Priscilla-Fan. Mit persönlich ist sie zu "püppchenhaft", total gekünstelt und geliftet. Geld benötigt sie wahrscheinlich nicht, aber mal wieder öffentl. Aufmerksamkeit. Im Video "Elvis - by the Presleys" frage ich mich manchmal, wie hoch ihr IQ ist. Meiner Meinung nach ist die ganze Frau nur ein "Kunstwerk" - ein Püppchen. Aber sie hat einen eiseren Willen und guten Geschäftssinn - das sieht man daran, wie sie den Namen "Priscilla Pesley" vermarktet. Nicht umsonst nennt sie sich immer noch so, denn ihren Lebensgefährten und Vater ihres Sohnes Navarro will sie ja nicht heiraten, weil sonst der prestigeträchtige Namen "Presley" aus ihrem Namen verschwindet.

The prospect of participating in a sport she adores prompted actress Priscilla Presley to join the upcoming season of "Dancing with the Stars."

"I'm dancing because I, first of all, love dancing," she said on "Good Morning America" today. "There's a little dancing in all of us."

Yet she hasn't overlooked the physical benefits of the pastime and looks forward to attaining a leaner physique like so many of the show's previous contestants.

"I could go for the toning," she said.

Presley was one of the twelve celebrities, six men and six women, tapped to participate for the show's sixth season, which begins March 25.

The five women competing against Presley will be: skater and gold medalist Kristi Yamaguchi; tennis great Monica Seles; "American Pie" actress Shannon Elizabeth; 1986 Academy Award winning actress Marlee Matlin; and Tony-award winning Marissa Jaret Winokur.

Representing the men are: Miami Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor; actor Steve Guttenberg; radio show host Adam Carolla; R&B singer Mario; comic and magician Penn Jillette; and South American actor Cristian de la Fuente.

Presley said she spoke with stars who competed in previous seasons and they only had good things to say about their experience, which helped her commit to the show.

"Everyone that I talked to said they all want to do it again," she said.

Deaf Actress to 'Dance With the Stars' Presley, known internationally for her marriage to rock-and-roll icon Elvis Presley, did not wait to get a leg up on the competition. Her coach and partner Louis Van Amstel said the two already have practiced. He said he was impressed with her performance.

"We met two days ago. We did a little bit of foxtrot. She's going to be a surprise," he said. "I'm so excited. I mean come on, it's Priscilla Presley."

The mother of the King's only child has a history of dance.

"I danced a little. I took jazz, which is completely different from ballroom dancing,"Presley said. She added that she also had some ballet experience. "There's a little dancing in all of us."

But that won't necessarily benefit her. Last year, the audience was stunned to see fan-favorite Sabrina Bryan get eliminated early in the competition.

Presley does have one rule about participating. She won't dance to any Elvis songs.

"I just don't really think that would be appropriate," she said.
