Then Sings My Soul

Elvis Presley was probably most relaxed on stage when doing one of his legendary Tahoe-shows.
No matter if the year was 1971, 73, 74 or 1976, he was always ready when the crowd was in wanting to celebrate an unforgettable evening with their King.

May 7th, 1976 was such a date and Elvis delivered a very fine performance. Well, in fact he did two shows that day.

Rainbow Records managed to obtain very early generation tapes of audience recordings from both shows Elvis did that day.
On their brandnew release called "Then Sings My Soul", the Midnight Show will be presented with a great variety of classic Elvis tunes while many highlights from
the dinner show (such as *The Wonder Of You* and *It´s Midnight*) will be on this 2 cd set as well.

There will be even more to discover for the fans ears when listening to the new RR release - more information on this will follow soon.

"Then Sings My Soul" contains a 20 (!!) page-booklet with all necessary information regarding Elvis´ final Lake Tahoe engagement.

Mit der setlist für 7.5.76 MS kann ich nicht ganz einverstanden sein.
Das Band endet nach It`s Now Or Never und wir wissen nicht, was danach kam. Es könnte Can`t Help...gewesen sein, muss aber nicht..ist also Spekulation..

hoppla, was immer dann im detail die songlist ist, interessant scheint sie allemal zu sein

in jedem falle scheint elvis ziemlich entspannt gewesen zu sein in tahoe 76 - on tour hat er doch nie eine solche setlist gehabt, oder?

Elvis und Lake Tahoe ist meiner Meinung nach etwas Besonderes. Er gab dort eigentlich immer sein Bestes und war dort in späteren Jahren immer besser als in Vegas. So waren die Shows auch hier releativ lang mit guter setlist und besser als in den Touren zuvor. Doch war Elvis gerade zu dieser Zeit gesundheitlich stark angeschlagen, man hört es einfach, er klingt müde, erschöpft und zeitweise recht "benebelt". Doch er ist sichtlich bemüht und das rettet diese Tahoe season.
Die vorliegende Show gehört definitiv mit zu den besten, so dass die Anschaffung auf jeden Fall lohnt !

wenn ich die setlist der DS mit der der MS vergleiche, dann fällt auf, dass in der DS nach now or never auch noch how great vor CHFIL kommt. was den verdacht nahe legt, dass auch in der MS CHFIL nicht unmittelbar nach now or never gesungen worden sein dürfte.

wenn ich also ein bisschen weiter spekuliere und bedenke, dass die MS prinzipiell oft mehr songs als die DS enthielten, dann könnte es sogar sein, dass nach now or never nicht nur ein, sonder eventuell sogar zwei weitere songs vor dem schlusslicht eingeworfen wurden.

gibt es denn da draußen so gar kein weiteres band von dieser show???? :traurig:
