The final chapter in this great series, has a lot of nice new clips.
One of the highlights is the recently found TTWII outtake of Polk Salad Annie, where Elvis is wearing the “concha” suit!! a complete version,
where the best angles have been edited for a great performance, which is over 6 minutes long! Also a new and complete rehearsal outtake for You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me is included.
This of course is just one of the many highlights of this dvd, also included is a newly made “1957 road medley” as featured in Loving You, incredible newly found footage of the fifties sixties and seventies , an alternate and extended version of Slicin Sand, and for the first time we see and hear Elvis sing “I’m Left You’re Right She’s Gone” a STAR exclusive, which has never been released in any form!!
6 new remixes, including Night Rider, Jailhouse Rock (color) and Let Us Pray (great new beat!) new rockers, swingers and killers.
Also as a bonus some portions (including the amazing opening) of the 30th ann. Concert at the Fed-Ex Forum, are on this dvd, although quality is not that good, it is nice to have.

THE FANTASY CONCERT
Every now and then we get something completly different, which blows you away and has never been done before... this is one of those days!!
Star brings us this very unusual dvd, which features all songs from Elvis
1974 live performance in Memphis, also know as RECORDED LIVE IN MEMPHIS.
We hear and see Elvis perform ALL songs from this historical concert, footage is from 1969 – 1976 and is combined in a way, only STAR can deliver.

Ansonsten ist die Bildqualität schon grottig schlecht.

als "schlecht" würd ich es empfinden, wenn ich es nur unter dem aspekt beleuchte, dass das ja mit professionellem equipment gefilmt wurde... aber wenn ich an all die andere footage, vor allem super 8 - aufnahmen, denke, dann ist das hier geradezu perfekt!

hab das set gestern bekommen und die ersten beiden dvdr´s bereits angesehen und ich muss sagen, ich bin begeistert! wiedermal gute arbeit von star!

da ich aber momentan keinen zugriff zu meinen anderen dvds habe und somit auch nicht auf dem 10er set nachsehen kann, hab ich nun einige fragen und hoffe darauf, dass mir die spezialisten hier das beantworten können:

- auf dvd 1 ist "that´s allright" (slow version) drauf... ich hab noch nie von einer slow version von thats allright gehört... ... ich kann nun nicht recht differenzieren, ob das tatsächlich echt ist, oder ob star wiedermal herumgespielt hat und "that´s allright" einfach langsamer abspielt. irgendwie sieht es nämlich so komisch aus, wenn man wilkinson oder auch scheff im hintergrund dazu spielen sieht... wie zeitlupe...

- dann zur zweiten dvd - opening night: hier scheint ja das gesamte konzert drauf zu sein, und meiner meinung nach ohne schnitte (in bild wie ton)... war das auf dem mehrteiligen set schon so drauf? ich hab das nämlich gar nicht so in erinnerung! ich dachte echt eben beim anschauen, ich seh was neues... aber laut cisco

Star bringt nie was Unveröffentlichtes...nur bekanntes neu verarbeitet....aber klasse gemacht..

- auch bilde ich mir ein, die sachen von der after-show-party (elvis im schwarzen leder, wo auch sammy davis jr. und cary grant dabei sind) waren bis jetzt immer schwarz/weiß, aber da kann ich mich auch täuschen... hier sind sie in farbe drauf.

da entgeht dir aber einiges.... noch nie pittsburgh 76, houston 71, hawaii 72 usw... gesehen? auch november 70 hab ich neulich erst entdeckt, der hammer!

1.) Das Star Zeugs ist klasse...gehört zu meinen faves...

3.)Ist nix Neues, muss auf irgend einem set drauf sein, oder patchwork aus mehreren sets....Star bringt nie neue footage.

Das STAR Set hätte man auch so schon nicht gebraucht, das ist einfach was nettes zum anschauen, aber nicht wirklich wichtig

In einem Auto-Thread wäre die Frage wohl vergleichsweise ob man nach dem Kauf eines Ferrari noch einen Mini braucht

Das stimmt. hab ich auch schon oft zu anderen STAR-DVDs geschrieben dass sie gut sind, aber eben nicht wirklich wichtig.
Wollte damit auf keinen Fall sagen es wäre schlecht, aber The Complete Works ist ein ganz anderes Kaliber
