'ELVIS: On Tour' SONY/BMG Autumn 2010 CD Box-set?: With the 'On Tour' DVD finally being released (sadly without any extras) 2010 must at last be the year we see an official release of Elvis' Hampton Roads 'On Tour' concert.

Back in 2002 Ernst Jorgensen told EIN "The reason why we haven’t put out 'On Tour' on either FTD or RCA at this time is that we would ideally like to do it with the DVD release. So we are giving them (Warners) a little more time but eventually if they don’t come around, we will release the material that we have which is pretty substantial. Nothing that you can’t guess what it is".

One can only hope for a 2CD Legacy version, or even better a 3CD box-set similar to the great 'TTWII' BMG release. The first disc has to be Elvis' sensational 'Hampton Roads' concert. It is noteworthy that FTD/RCA have also not yet released anything from Elvis' Greensboro or Richmond concerts. A second CD of the "best" of these concerts combined with a third CD of studio rehearsals would be a fitting tribute.

Last week Ernst Jorgensen also said that, "Another Presley reissue is likely in the fall". With the 'On Tour' DVD being released in August 2010, the matching 'On Tour' CD release would make perfect sense.

andererseits.. die nightmare-box mit 7 dvds gibts auch schon seit längerem um knapp 25,-
von daher..

Und irgendwie hat eine ganze Box mit Elvis-Filmen ja auch etwas von Nightmare.....

Warner Home Video is celebrating the life, times, and movie career of the rock 'n roll darling, Elvis Presley, through a series of releases on both DVD and Blu-ray. First up is the release on both formats, Elvis On Tour, a documentary following his 1972 tour. It'll contain a 40-page book on the tour. The Elvis Blu-ray Collection contains Jailhouse Rock, Viva Las Vegas, and the aforementioned Elvis On Tour. Lastly, the Elvis: 75th Anniversary DVD Collection contains 17 of the rock legend's films in one huge collection, with a concert program reproduction, letters and other memorabilia packed to the brim. Looks like a stellar set for avid collectors. You can find all of these releases in stores on August 3, 2010. Expect to pay $34.99 for the Blu-ray of On Tour, and $19.97 for the DVD. $49.99 will be the price tag on the Blu-ray Collection, with the beefier DVD Collection running at a reasonable $74.92. Not bad for 17 films. All of these prices are MSRP, so you'll be able to track them down in stores for less.

Lesen oder auch Verstehen (Englisch) sind hier gar nicht nötig, ein wenig Nachdenken reichte.

Warum sollte man in eine solche (zumal noch Billig-) Box etwas mit hinein legen, das bisher noch gar nicht zu haben war, also mittels Einzel-VÖ nicht entsprechenden Umsatz vorab schon gemacht haben konnte?

Überhaupt sind diese August-Veröffentlichungen auf reines (Wieder-)Abkassieren ausgerichtet. Da gleicht keiner VÖ der anderen und eben auch nicht evtl. Vorgängern. Und wo es eigentlich nur ON TOUR zu veröffentlichen gilt, man u.U. nichts weiter zu bieten vermag oder dazu geben möchte, gestaltet man es eben mittels Booklet und anderen Extras in Papierform "ein wenig bunter".

Aber das hat sich ja auch unter Bootlegs längst bewährt.
