Gestern habe ich die CD und das Buch erhalten. Die spannende Frage lautet nun: Ergeben die FTD CD und das Buch von MRS das ultimative Paket zum 1976er Minnesota-Konzert?
Zuerst zur CD. Das Cover sieht sehr 1970ish aus und gefällt mir persönlich gut. Den kleinen Grammatik-Fehler hätte man sich verkneifen können, aber ansonsten ist die Aufmachung gelungen. Die Tonqualität ist nicht auf dem Level der vorangegangenen VÖ, aber prinzipiell in Ordnung. Dass man die Solo-Songs von Mr. Nielsen herausnehmen musste, kann ich gut verschmerzen. Elvis selbst ist gut drauf, konzentriert sich aber auf den Gesang und nicht auf das Herumgeplänkel mit den Fans. Auch seine Stimme klingt gut, wenn ich auch den Eindruck nicht loswerde, der King war an diesem Abend ein wenig mit angezogener Handbremse unterwegs. Richtig Vollgas gibt er nie, aber trotzdem war die Show mehr als nur ordentlich. Und mit ONE NIGHT erfüllt er sogar noch einen Zuschauerwunsch. Insofern: Die CD ist gelungen!
Von dem Buch kann man das nicht zwingend behaupten. Einige Fotos sind unscharf, andere überbelichtet. An die Produktionen von PRAYTOME reicht dieses Buch hier um Längen nicht ran. Und 30€ halte ich für so ein Werk auch definitiv für zu teuer. Die Hälfte hätte es auch getan.
Insgesamt ist das Set für den Live-Fan natürlich nett zu haben, aber sicherlich nicht essenziell. Mit der CD allein ist der Konzert-Fan gut genug bedient.
