Compilations mit Outtakes wird es wohl nicht mehr geben. Ich würde eher sagen, FTD verteilt die Takes der JUNGLE ROOM SESSIONS auf die Classic Albums FROM ELVIS PRESLEY BOULEVARD... und MOODY BLUE und streicht die JRS dann aus dem Katalog. Ist in meinen Augen auch ein sinnvolles Vorgehen.

Die Session so dokumentiert wie auf der WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE wird es von FTD aber nicht geben.

Wäre aber Klasse, wenn es noch mehrere Ausgaben von WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE geben würde und FTD dann die noch fehlenden Takes auf den Classic Albums nachschieben täte.

Wenn die Venus Leute so weitermachen, kann man die CDs meiner Meinung nach dann durchaus auf das Niveau der "American Way" Serie stellen.

Ich bin entzückt darüber, wie schon einmal jemand sagte; besonders freu´ ich mich auf " Never again ", ein Song, der mir beim ersten Mal, an dem ich ihn hörte, sofort gefallen hat.

Und der Rest, der da noch folgt ( hoffentlich ), ist ebenfalls eine tolle Sache.

Zumindest ist es eine interessante Sache,da man sich aus den diversen Takes verschiedene Jungle Room-CDs im Stil der FTD-Version brennen kann,den zumindest ich habe keine Lust,mir 4-6 mal hintereinander denselben Song anzuhören.

Aber mit dieser Taktik bleiben die Versionen länger interessant und "nutzen" sich nicht so schnell ab.

Solche CDs höre ich mir auch nicht oft am Stück an. Auf Dauer ist es tatsächlich ein wenig langweilig.

Aber trotzdem finde ich es -zumindest einige Male- hochinteressant, eine Session Stück für Stück nachvollziehen zu können.

Und als Sammler ist es natürlich absolut phantastisch, mehr oder minder die komplette Session im Schrank zu haben. Hören werde ich diese CDs wohl eher selektiv (zumindest auf Dauer), aber die komplette Session zu haben -unabhängig was Sony oder FTD bringen- ist schon klasse.

Zumal, wenn die Verpackung schön gestaltet und die Tonqualität so gut ist.

Für jemanden der eine vollständige Sammlung haben will gibt es nichts zu überlegen.Die Imports müssen her.Es ist nicht davon auszugehen das FTD alle Takes dieser Session bringen wird.Schon wegen der Menge der Aufnahmen ist das unmöglich.
FTD wird aber sicher auch einige Takes noch in der Hinterhand haben um ihre Veröff. für uns interessant zu machen.Man sieht ja jetzt schon bei der Import Serie das immer einige Takes bei manchen Song fehlen.

Volume Two of these legendary sessions recorded at Graceland these are pure gold as these are the last studio sessions recorded by Elvis and like the FTD release “The Jungle Room Sessions” they go to prove Elvis was in great voice and spirit unlike the official Albums of the day “From Elvis Presley Boulevard & Moody Blue” these seemed to cast a shadow over the recordings partly in they way they were mixed and possibly partly because these were the last two albums we got of Elvis in the studio?
Now we are treated as the good old FTD did all those years ago with “The Jungle Room Sessions” here for the second time more complete sessions in some cases not so complete but more complete than we could ever have dreamed of a few years ago.

Here as advertised on the back cover of Never Again - the next volume "The Last Farewell" let’s hope this is released soon, as we can never grow tired of this material..

The CD contains every known available take of "Danny Boy", "Never Again" and "Love Coming Down" including the undubbed master take and the dubbed master takes for each song.
The CD is like the first Volume presented in a jewel case with a nicely designed 16-page booklet and well written liner notes from which we have come to expect.
Recordings on this outing feature from February 5 to February 7, 1976. Down in the Jungle Room as we have all now become accustomed to calling it.

The CD starts with:
take 5 of "Danny Boy". Elvis can be heard giving the order "gimme a key!". The take ends after 01.46 minutes. Elvis wasn't very happy with the key when he had to sing the high notes. Up until then he was doing well.
Take 6 Elvis struggles at the same point and interrupted himself. For the next take he changed the key again as he’s still unhappy with it.

Take 7 as he did on take 6 clearing his throat and commenting "I got to much sh*t in me. I'd like to do it in C. That's where I'd like to do it better."
Take 8 as released on FTDs "The Jungle Room Sessions".
Take 9 as released on "Platinum" disc 4
Take 10 is the master without overdubs.
next up "Never Again" from the midnight recording on the next evening. Elvis seems to be in a reasonably good mood as he light-heartedly interrupts the first take with:-
Take 1 after a few seconds if you'd pay attention...you know....... You guys've been in musi- in the studio too long, sittin' there with "click, click, click....one, two, three, fo"... You know, get loose.. n live!.. you know, like you do on stage? Glen (or someone): Well, we were all drunk, then! Elvis: Well, get drunk now - fu##, man I'll get you so goddam bombed you won't even know where you're at... Bring out the booze..... Grandma! (everyone laughs). Elvis’ Grandma Dodger lived in a room just along from the kitchen, which was next to the Den where Elvis was recording,
Takes 2 and 3 are only a few seconds long, but this is where we get to hear some chat between Elvis, the musicians and Felton Jarvis, these gems are nore interesting at times than the music.
Take 4 is a complete take. Elvis finished it with the remark "Right!" commenting that he wasn't to unsatisfied with it.
Take 5 is also a complete and Elvis is nailing it each time.
Take 6 is only 40 seconds only and is proceeded by a quick rehearsal.
Take 7 is a long false start,. with Elvis cussing "G*damn it!"
Take 8 again a false start with Elvis discussing part of the song.
Take 9 is a complete. And another fine version.
Take 10 starts with Elvis remarking "attempt 65". The take ends shortly after in another false start..
Take 11 as released on "The Jungle Room Sessions",
Take 12 is only a false start Felton announces take 13 but then 14 as if he thought he made a mistake in the take number?
Take 14 is the undubbed master. As released on many boot CD’s over the years.
"Never Again" section ends with the dubbed master.
The other song from this midnight session was "Love Coming Down".
Take 1 ends after a false start.
Take 2 is a complete and good take running for 3.08 min.
Take 3 as on "The Jungle Room Session" where it was wrongly listed as take 2.
Take 4 as on "Made In Memphis"
Take 5. Undudded master as released on various other boot CD’s but not in this quality
The CD finishes with the master take when you listen straight after the undubbed recordings you can but wonder what Felton was listening to
If you get the chance to pick this up do it you won’t regret it the sound throughout is stunning and a running time just under 60 minutes this CD leaves you wishing it was a touch longer perhaps with takes 1 – 4 of Danny Boy maybe one day, till then its easily a 10 out of 10
