Straight Arrow is pleased to announce this new 2CD set, featuring two concerts from the July/August Bicentennial tour, in topnotch audience recorded quality. It was somewhat problematic tour and especially at the end of July and first days of August, Elvis' voice was affected by some kind of laryngitis. Nevertheless, the two concerts from Onondaga War Memorial Auditorium in Syracuse are examples of two solid Presley concerts, with Presley sounding clear and enthusiastic, and in good voice. Both shows were taken directly from recently found original audience-recorded mastertapes. The July 25th, 1976 show was released in 2002 on a CD called „Stormin’ Syracuse“ from an inferior and incomplete (14 minutes missing!) source. The July 27th show is previously unreleased. Every second was digitally restored, every click manually removed, every drop-out fixed to achieve optimal listening pleasure. Ask your local dealer for samples to judge for yourself!

This special release is presented in a de-luxe double digipack, accompanied by a 24-page booklet filled with many professional photos from July 27th and positive press reviews of both shows. Photos from July 25th are extremely rare (amateurish snapshots only). A couple of them have been added in spite of problematic quality, for historic reasons.

Ich hatte mich auch über den Titel gewundert und mich daher etwas schlauer gemacht:

Die Onondaga (Eigenbezeichnung: Onota'keka - Das Volk auf den Hügeln) sind ein nordamerikanischer Indianerstamm, der zur Irokesenliga gehörte, einer Allianz aus fünf und später sechs Stämmen. Zu ihnen zählten die Cayuga, Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Seneca und als sechste Nation die Tuscarora. Das Territorium der Irokesenliga befand sich im zentralen heutigen US-Bundesstaat New York. Das traditionelle Wohn- und Jagdgebiet der Onondaga lag geografisch in der Mitte der fünf Irokesen-Stämme. Sie waren die symbolischen Hüter des Ratsfeuers der Irokesenliga und verantwortlich für die Organisation der Ratsversammlungen und Bewahrung der Wampums, der Dokumentation der Ratsbeschlüsse. Damit hatten sie, durch vierzehn Häuptlinge in der Ratsversammlung vertreten, eine herausragende Funktion innerhalb der Liga. Heute leben Angehörige der Onondaga Nation im Onondaga-Reservat in Nedrow bei Syracuse in den Vereinigten Staaten, sowie im Six Nations of the Grand River-Reservat in Ontario, Kanada.
