**At his homes in LA they always had cooks and the maids to to do cooking,
cleaning etc. However, at his Palm Springs homes, where he usually went for
the weekeds or for short stays between movies, etc. it was an entirely
different story. Sometimes the cooks came down but alot of times they did not.

When they (the cooks) didn't come down it was pretty pathetic. No food in the
house until Charlie or someone decided to go and get groceries and then it was
mostly those tv dinners in the little tinny plates. They would order in food
alot and I think if it weren't for the girls that were around everything would
have just been left sitting on the coffee tables etc. Ok, to give Charlie
credit, he was a bit of a neat freak and did go around and tidy up usually. As
for Elvis cooking-sure he would-he put in some little weenies wrapped in dough
    and BURNED THEM!

Another time he made toast but the toaster wasn't plugged in.

Then there was the time he made frozen orange juice-added too much water so
dumped in another can of frozen concentrate. It was horrible! He didn't
    believe in reading directions!

As for laying on the couch and watching tv...if there was room for him to lay
down, of course he would. !

Other forms of entertainment when they got desperate would be to light up the
living room with literally hundreds of candles, turn off all the lights and
everyone took turns talking about whatever the. subject of the evening was.
Elvis always went last because once he started talking, he never stopped.

Also,Did he ever talk about going to college, or doing something else
besides singing and entertaining? I know how much he loved his fans, and
music, but everyone has mixed feelings sometimes.

**Someone actually asked him that question once and at the time he said that
entertaining was his life. He may have started to lean towards gospel more if
he'd had the chance but who knows.

In Memphis, when Elvis wanted to go to the mall, he went to the mall.
in the sprng of '76 Elvis went to Southland Mall, which is located just
south of Graceland, right in the middle of the day. As a matter of fact,
it was April 12,1976, I have photos.
He drove the black Stutz. He had Linda, Billy and Jo with him.
      That's all, no one else.
He got out of the car, and they walked right down the middle of the
mall. He went to a pet store and bought a little white dog for Lisa.
Several people spoke to him, but no one bothered him. He did sign
some autographs while he was in the pet store. Several people gathered
around while he played with a few puppies. He picked out the little
white one, and they were back off for Graceland.
He had just gotten a new Harley and him and Linda rode it all
evening. He seem to be in a great mood and having fun.
      Steve.

I remember one time, about 1975, he was getting ready to perform in
Memphis and tickets had gone on sale, well everybody was standing in
line for tickets and there was nobody at the gate so he came out and
went across the street to the "Hickory Log", it was a barbeque place
that some friends of mine and Steve's owned. He watched Charlie play
the pinball machines. The owner's daughter was also playing the
machines, she almost stroked out. She couldn't believe he was there.

met Elvis about a week before Christmas in Memphis near Kang Rhee's karate studio in December of 1976. My good friend at
the time was a 4th degree black belt and I was fairly new at karate and
was a yellow belt, studying in Chicago. Our instructor was a student and friend of Master Kang Rhee where Elvis studied in
Memphis. They set up our meeting with Elvis which lasted a few hours. We discussed different philosophies of karate,
discipline and creativity in karate, we also discussed music and shared some wonderful stories. Elvis was indeed a gentleman
that made us feel quite welcome. He looked great but somewhat tired. He was very energetic and looking forward to
Christmas. His appearance was captivating, I mean standing and talking to Elvis Presley was in my life a magnificent
achievement. It took a while for me to realize I was with him and I wasn't speaking too much so to break the ice, Elvis
punched me in the shoulder and said, "What's the matter, cat got your tongue?" Well, of course that broke the ice and he was
really easy to talk to after that. He autographed several photos and TCB patches for us and then we parted about 3:00am....we
followed him to Graceland but we didn't go up there, in fact, he came back down to the gates and talked with us for a bit
while more. We talked about designing a special jacket that we would wear to the Chicago concert, and he was interested in
seeing it in Chicago. They were black satin jackets with a white EP embroidered on the back side, and the TCB patches he
signed for us were on the front. They were beautiful jackets and we got hundreds of compliments on them from fan clubs and
people at the concerts. We wore them to the Chicago concert May1 and May 2, 1977 but Joe Esposito wouldn't let us back after
the concert (against Elvis' wishes) and then Joe again wouldn't announce us at the Arlington Park Hilton. So Elvis never got
to see the jacket he wanted to. All in all we were with him nearly 8 hours and part of the time I was indeed in heaven. Our
drive home back to Chicago was full of excitement. Elvis was great and his accomplishments are self speaking, that is why I
will always be a fan, because he took time out of his busy life to talk to me, and made me feel special. There are a few more
details but they are rather private and I thank the good Lord for that opportunity.

going back into the 60's when Elvis was
            living
at the Rocca house (which was located at the top of a winding hill)
            there
was usually a group of fans at the gate no-matter what the weather. In

the summertime it would get very hot (duh!) and since alot of fans
            walked
up the hill, having either come from bus-stops, or having bmething that

could take hours. One day it was particularly hot and a bunch of fans
were sitting under a tree playing cards to pass the time when up pulls
            the
Rolls Royce with Elvis driving. He stopped and chit chatted about the
awful heat etc. and then headed up the driveway. Not 10 minutes later
            the
white Toronado heads down the driveway but no-one paid much attention
            to
it since it wasn't a car that Elvis usually drove. Then the car stops,

door opens up, and out steps Elvis. Flips the seat forward and starts
hauling out cold Pepsi's, & Orange Soda's and hands them out to
            everyone
standing there. Then he asked if anyone was hungry - everyone said no
            but
he basically insisted everyone was!! Nods to Jerry (Schilling) who
            asks
what everyone would like since he was heading into the village to pick
            up
sandwiches for everyone. That being done we figured he'd get back into

the car and go into town with Jerry or head on back up to the house but

instead he motioned for everyone to get inside behind the gate (to get
            out
of the sun he said) and he just stayed there with everyone talking (he
talked about the Bel Air fire which had taken place a a few years
            before),
also was joking about the movie he was filming at the time (Double
Trouble). Seconds after that Charlie comes tooling down the drive in
            his
little red caddie (make that BIG caddie) and pulls to the side of the
driveway inside the gate. Next thing Elvis is sitting on the hood of
Charlie's car having a Soda and Charlie was doing impressions of
            various
entertainers......our own private show!! When Jerry returned with the
sandwiches we ate and then they all returned to the house ..... like
            the
whole incident was no big deal! Somewhere I have a photo of Elvis
            sitting
on that car, pepsi in hand, surrounded by a bunch of sweaty girls!
Wouldn't that make a great ad?

As for him getting tired of the fans being there - I'm sure he did at
times but he stayed gracious about the whole situation. Years later
            when
the subject came up again, as it did from time to time, he did say that
            if
it ever got to be a problem, he'd let everyone know. He kept that
            promise....

              “I’ll Remember You”

From the very beginning I thought he was the greatest. The first song I
really remember was “Heartbreak Hotel”. And I remember waiting in a line
around the block to see “Love Me Tender”. I never dreamed that I’d ever get
to see him in person. But in October 1969, I was in Memphis for the National
Quartet Convention, and I saw him as he left Graceland one afternoon. He was
              beautiful!

In June 1970, I was in Nashville to see the Imperials and found out that
Elvis was recording at RCA. A friend and I went over and waited until he
came out of the recording studio; we got his autograph and had our pictures
taken with him, but we were so excited that we didn’t wind the film and our
              pictures were double-exposed. A chance of a lifetime - - a picture with the
world’s greatest star - - and we double-expose the pictures.

In September 1970, he came to Mobile and I saw my first concert. It was
easy to see why he was the King of Rock and Roll. I saw one concert in 1971,
one in 1973, and one in 1974. In early 1975, he started getting some bad
reviews, and even though I had tickets to see him in Huntsville on May 30,
              31, and June 1, I couldn’t wait - - so I went to Murfreesboro on May 6 to
see for myself. I was not disappointed! He was still the king! The five
Huntsville shows were fantastic. I was lucky enough to have a front row seat
at the June 1, 2:30 show, and I got a scarf and a kiss. I thought nothing
              could ever top that.

On July 26, 1975, a friend Carolyn and I got to talk with him for about 35
minutes. He was at the Memphian Theatre (Memphis) and we thought we’d just
get close enough to take a picture, but a couple of other girls were getting
pictures out of their trunk for him to autograph and he was just leaning up
against the car as we walked up to him. He was smiling and said “Hi.” I said
“I just saw you four times in Huntsville and you were great.” He said he had
been nervous about coming to Huntsville because he’d never played here
before but when he walked out on stage he thought he was Werner Von Braun. I
told him that Huntsville loved him. I told him he was working too hard, that
he was touring more than ever. He said he loved it, he loved appearing
before a live audience, that it gave him a feeling of a sense of
accomplishment. I started to ask him something else (changing the subject),
but he said, “Are you listening to me or thinking about something else?” I
told him that I knew what he said and I repeated part of it. He was teasing
me - - guess he knew that I was excited.

He had just finished a tour in Asheville, NC, the night before (when he
gave away the guitar and rings). I said, "I heard you were giving away
everything last night.” And he said instead of pitching the guitar to
Charlie that he just pitched to a man on the front row and then he gave a
ring to another man on the front row. He said then that he called a girl up
to the stage from three or four rows back and he gave her a star-shaped
diamond ring; he said she turned two or three flips back to her chair. He
was laughing and said he just went crazy. The following Sunday (July 27)
night, he gave a black bank teller that he saw on a car dealer’s parking lot
              a new Cadillac.

Carolyn and I were planning to go to Las Vegas in August (just a month
away) and we didn’t know anything about how to “act” except we had heard
that you had to tip big. Well, Carolyn told him that we were coming to Vegas
to see him and asked him what you had to do to sit on the front. Without
answering Carolyn, he just called Sonny West over and told him that we were
coming to Vegas to see him and that we wanted to sit on the front row and to
take care of it. He seemed pleased that we would go all the way to Las Vegas
just to see him. Elvis said he would remember us, that he didn’t always
remember names but he remembered faces. It was funny because we didn’t know
who Sonny was. Sonny just acknowledged Elvis’ remark and stepped back. I
asked Sonny who he was and he told me and said when we got to Las Vegas to
call him. I told him that they wouldn’t let me talk to him and he said, “I
have a beeper and I answer the calls I want to.”

Some more people had walked up by then and one of the girls said she didn’
t believe he was really Elvis. Trying to convince her that he was Elvis, he
started to sing “Treat Me Like a Fool…” Then just a little of “Hound Dog”.
And I said, “You didn’t sing ‘Tiger Man’ for us.” And WOW!! He started “I’m
the king of the jungle…” I said, “Now I know it’s not him.” He just grabbed
me and hugged me - - he knew that I was teasing him - -that I knew for sure
              it was him.

Something that impressed me most about Elvis was when some guys walked up,
Elvis reached to shake hands with them and introduced himself to them. Just
as any other man would introduce himself, he told them his name as he shook
              hands with them.

When he signed his autograph for me, I told him my name was Helen. He
said, “To hell and back?” Then he said, “Can I write that?” I told him that
I didn’t care and he said that I’d have to explain it. He signed, “To Helen
n back, Love, Elvis Presley,” Then, he told me again to explain it to
everyone. (He must have thought that I was going to be showing it to a lot
              of people - - Ha!)

As we left, we exchanged a “See you in Las Vegas” with Elvis. It was
almost like a dream. In fact, at one point, Carolyn and I were standing
behind Elvis and I looked at Carolyn and said, “Can you believe this?”

When Elvis got sick in August and came home from Vegas before we got
there, you can imagine how disappointed we were. But we saw Sonny in
September and he said we’d still get to sit on the front just like Elvis
said. (He was going back to Vegas in December.) Finally, the time passed. On
Dec. 6, 1975, we sat front, center (at the stage) for the dinner show, he
just smiled to us; then when he started to sing “Can’t Help Falling in Love”
, he came over and gave Carolyn a scarf, backed up and got another one, and
stepped back and gave it to me.

In 1976 and 1977, we traveled many miles to concerts (St. Louis, Atlanta,
Memphis, Tuscaloosa, Montgomery, Knoxville, Mobile, Louisville, Birmingham,
and Las Vegas again) and, of course, he graced the stage of the Von Braun
Civic Center again in September 1976. Each concert just made us want to see
              more.

I am so thankful that he lived in my lifetime. He gave so much; he gave
his life to entertaining us. I think he loved us (his fans) just as we loved
him. I made so many friends through him and have so many wonderful memories
of him. I WILL REMEMBER HIM!!

              Helen Parcus

Story taken from the book, "I Got Ya Elvis, I Got Ya!" ..... Betty Page.

We decided It was time for coffee and donuts and was just going out to
or car when someone yelled, "Here he comes"!.

Here he came, all right, down the drive In his white Limousine. He was
driving. We jumped In our truck and followed him down Elvis Presley
Boulevard. It was raining good and steady. Even Elvis was not speeding
                like he normally does.

We stayed right behind him, just Elvis and Linda In the Limo, one
bodyguard car, and us. No one else tried to follow that night. Elvis
swung around the loop and pulled out on Interstate 55, drove the short
distance to the Interstate 240 exit and turned east. Cars were backed up
                quite a ways.

Just past the end of the entrance ramp to I-24 several blue and red
police lights spun around and around shooting colorful rays out over
almost a hundred cars. The silent, rotating light forcast something
tragic. The lights flashed past two trucks twisted acoss the highway In
eerie configuration. Traffic crept along the open lane.

A firetruck stood by ready. Two men were using torches to cut one man
out of his truck. It was smashed bad. The motor was several feet away,
                just lying In the street.

We slowly crept closer and closer as the spinning lights continually
                swept the scene.
As we pased the wreck, Elvis pulled In front of the firetruck and went
back to Investigate. We stopped and watched. Elvis walked over to one
man and talked to him. We could see the deep concern In Elvis' face as
the police lights blinked across his face.

He reached In his pocket and took out something, wrote on It and handed
It to the man. The man looked very appreciative as Elvis lowered his
head and walked to his Limousine. He had tears In his eyes. I called to
him but It was as If he hadn't heard. I bet he wrote out a check, but I
couldn't tell for sure. We could see the upset expression on his face as
he climbed Into the Limousine and slowly drove off. He Is really a
concerned person. We followed hm down I-240 a ways, then he turned off
the Interstate and went down Mt. Moriah. We couldn't figure out where In
the world he was going. Hes never gone this way that we could remember.

Then he turned Into a lighting fixtures store. Linda and Elvis and his
bodyguards went Into the store and began looking over all the lights. We
parked In front of the store and watched them through the plate glass
windows as Elvis walked through the maze of dangling lamps. He pulled
chains here and there mischievously as he snarled that smile that Is
Elvis' and Elvis' alone. You could see the little boy In him.

They sat down and thumbed through several books, apparently catalogs. I
just sat there glued to my seat, unable to look away. It's hard to
believe he does such things. Can you Imagine walking Into a store and
seeing Elvis calmly sitting on a couch ? I wanted to go In, but I knew
he'd appreciate It more If I didn't. So I waited and watched.

We followed him back to Graceland and figured that would be It for
tonight. We told some of the fans what we had done and they could not
                believe It either.

Was schönes aus Elvis World (Bill Burk)

Elvis was bringing Ann Margret to his Beverly Hills home and he had
plans !!! He told the guys to hit the road, not come back until well past
                          midnight.

But this was ANN MARGRET!!! and the guys wanted to get a good look at her up
                          close and personal.

After AM arrived, Alan Fortas and one or two others slipped up on the
outside and were peaking through a plate glass window (this is the way Alan
told it). Elvis and AM were in there groping on the couch. Then, Elvis got
up and walked non-chalantly toward the back of the house, out of sight. The
                          guys kept eyeballing AM through the plate glass . . . UNTIL . . . SUDDENLY .
                          . . CRASH !!!

Their heads were flying into the plate glass as Elvis has sneaked up behind
them and bashed their bonkers. "I told you to get the Hell outta here and
                          STAY out!" Elvis screamed.

                          They did!!! . . . this time.

Auf das FECC board wo Sie jetzt postet würde Ihr gefragt warum Sie Sich so gut an Daten (Sie hat sehr viele Photo´s gemacht) etc.errinneren kann..Sie hat ein Tagebuch gehabt.
                            Hier Ihr Antwort.

f it were not for having kept journals from almost the first time I met Elvis, I'd say I would probably be able to recall 25% of what happened and that's probably a high estimate because we saw him so regularly that one day blended into the next. So, unles something really spectacular happened that really would stick in your brain - it would be virtually impossible to recall details or who was there or who was not etc. or what he was wearing, saying blah blah blah. But, both my roomate and I would write down the days (or weekends) events within a day or so and in most cases, we'd do it the same evening and it's because of that, that so much now can be remembered...and we were quite detailed at the time of writing down as much as we could.

On the down side of that - at the time I wasn't keeping a record of specific dates because it just was not important to me at the time. Thankfully when we would get our prints back from the lab, we'd write the dates on the back of the prints and if it were not for that - I'd be totally clueless now. We turned in an average of 3 to 4 rolls a week back then...between Gas for the trips up to Beverly Hills and down to Palm Springs and film and developing, we were left pretty broke! (but worth it!!)

Wanda June Hill is a phony.
