Elvis museum to open in London

A museum which is due to open in an unknown London location next year will house the largest Elvis memorabilia collection outside Graceland.

The building, which is being funded privately, is expected to include never before seen images from the early days of rock and roll as well as footage of Elvis Presley and his family.

Also captured on film for the display are some of the King's entourage, the so-called Memphis Mafia, and Hollywood cast members.

Set to open on the 30th anniversary of the legendary rock and roll singer's death, the exhibition - dedicated to Elvis' legacy - will see more than 250 items on display.

Organisers of the display say it will allow the visitor to "experience the life of Elvis Presley from poverty to riches, world-wide fame and to ultimate rock and roll stardom".

The museum, which is expected to be ready next summer, will be part of a huge entertainment complex which will also house restaurants, shops and shows.

It is due to open during Graceland's annual Elvis Tribute Week which takes place between August 11th and August 19th 2007.
