Man nennt ihn ja den "King of Rock'n'Roll", aber Elvis hat schon von Anfang an sehr viele schöne und auch schön traurige Balladen eingesungen.

Blue Moon finde ich so richtig passend um melancholisch vor sich hin zu leiden.:traurig:

Da muss ich mit einstimmen, in die Melancholie ... Für meine bescheidenen Begriffe ein vielfach zu wenig beachteter Song. In Mystery Train (dem Film) ist das Teil ja wohl nur geil eingesetzt, oder?

Das Lied gefällt mir eigentlich erst richtig seit ich den Film gesehen hab. Vorher hab ich immer die Hit-Version der Marcels gemocht, die verbereitet so ein geiles Fifties-Feeling wie ich es früher mal auch bei den "Eis am Stiel"-Soundtracks empfunden habe....Tja, und dann hab ich Myster Train
gesehen und der Song war sowas von genial eingesetzt, dass es mich total umgehauen hat. Seither liebe ich die Elvis-Version und finde die der Marcels eher ein wenig dümmlich.

Ging/geht mir ganz genauso. Diese beiden traurigen Gestalten hinter ihrem Counter in diesem 'Heartbreak Hotel' sind einfach der Hammer. Ein fantastisches Bild. Und dazu der Song ... Muss mir den Film mal endlich auf DVD zulegen.

Ich weiß nicht, momentan scheint es mir, als würde hier einfach jeder Song aufgezählt, der in irgendeiner Weise von Verlust oder Trennung spricht. Aber das macht doch nicht automatisch einen traurigen Song aus - und schon gar nicht den traurigsten Song. Ich meine, I've Lost You ... Hallo? Das Lied handelt von Verlust, okay. Bringt es mich deshalb zum Heulen? Eher nicht. It Keeps Right On A-Hurtin' - zum Schluchzen traurig? Auch eher nicht. After Loving You ("what else is there to do?")? Dramatisch-ich-hau-mich-in-die-Kissen-und-bekomme-vor-Heulkrampf-keine-Luft- mehr? Fehlanzeige. When I'm Over You? Schon eher. Aber dann nur wegen des miserablen Songs. The Sound Of Your Cry? Ähnlich. Wobei da noch der Gesang dazu kommt. Vielleicht noch etwas stimmungsvoller - aber der traurigste Song?

Das habe ich schon vor Jahren gesagt. Anachronistischer ist kaum ein Elvis-Song. Ich frage mich, warum Frauen auf so was fliegen? Was ist aus der Emanzipation geworden? Wollen Frauen doch die harten Stecher, die sie rannehmen und dann wegwerfen, wie eine benutze Bananenschale an einem grauen - ach, lassen wir das ...
