Leider ist der Auftritt auf der Bootleg Vol.3 nicht komplett, 5 Songs fehlen.

Osteraker zum Beispiel ist ja auch nicht komplett, obwohl schon veröffentlicht. Das gibt aber Hoffnung, dass sie "The White House" noch einmal extra veröffentlichen.

Ohne Johnny Cash geht bei uns auch nichts. ;-)

Was kommt da auf uns zu? Sony hat letztes Jahr eine neue Domain registriert und nun warten wir, was da im Februar zum 80ten Geburtstag wohl kommen mag.....
Zum 70ten gabs ja die Cash Classic Alben sowie das Madison Konzert.

Leider überhaupt nichts. Seit Sony den Außendienst so ziemlich abgeschafft hat, fehlt mir leider eine Person, die mich mit Informationen versorgt. Und anrufen kann ich da auch keinen...beim Kundendienst wissen die vermutlich nicht mal, wer dieser Cash ist...:grins:

Immerhin scheint Sony sich so langsam den "verschollenen" Alben anzunehmen und veröffentlicht am 17. Februar in der "Original Album Classsics"-Reihe endlich "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash", "The Johnny Cash Show" und "The Man In Black".

Und Bootleg Vol IV kommt auch am 3. April :hurra::hurra::hurra:

Da ich bissher nur wenig von ihm habe, die Sammlung gerne aber erweitern möchte, sieht das ganz interessant aus. Wie weit deckt das Set sein "Schaffen" ab?

es deckt sein schaffen für die plattenfirma columbia (heute sony) ab plus (nicht komplett!) die sunaufnahmen von mitte 50er.
den bei vielen so beliebten späten cash der von rick rubin produzierten "american recordings"-serie wirst du darauf nicht finden.
wenn man im werbetext schreibt,
“Johnny Cash and Columbia Records were joined at the hip for 28 years,"
dann hat das schon einen etwas seltsamen beigeschmack. denn es war columbia, das einen seiner über die jahre erfolgreichsten und auch bedeutendsten künstler in den 80ern kalt abserviert hat.

Bei Cash geben sie sich Mühe und bringen ne richtige Monster-Box und zu Elvis Todestag reicht es nur für ne geringe Auswahl mit doppelten Tracks...da hätte ich mir auch eine Komplett-Box von 1956 bis 1977 gewünscht, mit den 60er Alben in mono.

Bei Johnny Cash scheint es eben Leute zu geben, die sich um tolle Veröffentlichungen kümmern...bei Elvis reicht es ja, wenn der Name draufsteht...

Wie auch immer, ich denke, ich werde wohl nicht dran vorbeikommen.

Für Erklärungen nach dem Warum muss man aber nicht lange suchen. Ein Blick in diverse Gruppen auf Facebook oder sogar in die 2 deutschen Foren sind da ausreichend. Und als Cash-Fan bin ich sogar glücklich drüber. :top:
