Straight Arrow label will release its 3rd CD on July 12.
This disc is follow up to their TENNESSEE STARLIGHT (SA 2006-2-02) release. This time producers focused on previously unreleased recording of Elvis show in Orlando, Florida, February 15, 1977. This concert was rated as the best of February tour. Among the highlights are spellbinding performances of "Help Me", "Love Letters", "Hurt", "It's Now Or Never", very dynamic "Big Boss Man" and the biggest moment of the show is definitely an unique performance of "My Way" with repeated last verse and extra high sung operatic ending. An original audience recorded mastertape of excellent quality was used for this project. The sound was transferred using 24 bit processing and professional equipment. Every second of the show was digitally restored to achieve the best possible result for optimal listening pleasure. As a special bonus, producers added 3 tracks are taken from 1st generation copy of original unreleased SOUNDBOARD recording of Orlando show.

Just as previous two STRAIGHT ARROW CD releases, this CD contains usual 16-page de-luxe full colour booklet with many rare photographs, taken mostly during Columbia 18.02.1977 show where Elvis wore the same "Indian Feather" suit as in Orlando 3 days before.

nicht zu vergleichen mit tennessee starlight

ich hatte große hoffnungen in diese veröffentlichung, zumal die tennessee starlight wirklich ein zu empfehlendes "audience recorded" - konzert darstellt. meinem gehörempfinden nach aber kann diese cd mit dem vorgänger so gar nicht mithalten. elvis ist ob extremer und von der tonhöhe her äußerst schrillen nebengeräuschen aus dem saal bei weitem nicht so gut auszumachen wie eben auf der starlight cd. tonmäßig aus meiner sicht also um einige stufen schlechter. das booklet ist ebenso toll gemacht wie beim vorgänger. die songs vom soundboard sind geprägt davon dass man lediglich das piano hört (sehr stark), elvis stimme ist gerade noch zu hören und dann aber auch fast gar nichts mehr, ausser ganz im hintergrund. das ist zwar immer noch ein soundboard, schmerzt nach mehrminütigem anhören jedoch in den gehörgängen. möchte meinem (und wahrscheinlich auch euren) elvisdealern nicht zu nahe treten, aber diese cd ist einfach schwach (das entspricht meiner persönlichen meinung, bin niemandem böse der es anders empfindet).
