    The story of Nipper.

The logo of record company RCA Victor, also known as 'His Masters Voice', is one of the most famous pictures of the last century. Not many people know that the name of the dog on the painting is Nipper. Even less known is the fact that Nipper was a real dog and lived in Liverpool. Nipper had 3 bosses, the brothers Barraud.

Francis always was amused to see how the dog was looking strange at his master's gramophone wondering where the voice was coming from. Some years later Francis painted the scene. Nipper was inherited by brother Phillip who was a photographer with a shop at 92 Bold Street in Liverpool. The painting ended up with the record company and the rest is history.

Fun fact is that none of the three brothers ever made a recording, so 'His Masters Voice' is not correct. On the picture, we see the one and only Nipper, the famous logo, Francis and his painting, Elvis with Nipper who was used as a prop in the fifties and Nippers home, today a comic book store.
