Klar Herbi, auf die FTDs hab ich jetzt im ersten komplett vergessen, auch die bringen großteils neues Material in die Sammlung und werden natürlich auch weiterhin gekauft.

(Da wäre ja dieses Franklin Dingsbums ein Schnapperl dagegen gewesen und hätte obendrein auch noch besser ausgeschaut )

Möchte mal wissen welches Klientel damit bedient werden soll? Die Fans haben die Lieder schon zigfach und sind deshalb nicht unbedingt bereit so viel Geld erneut für die bereits vorhandenen Songs zu zahlen. Und der Gelegenheitskäufer der mal so eben Elvis musikalisches Schaffen kennen lernen will wird erst recht von dem Preis abgeschreckt.

..die box ist zwar sehr schön aber definitiv zu teuer !!

...ich bleibe lieber bei den FTD Veröffentlichungen, da bin ich aus meiner sicht besser bedient !!

Bei den Master-Takes auf den Classic Albums handelt es sich doch sowiso um die Versionen von dieser Box. Und die Outtakes bekommst Du noch als Bonus dazu.

Ich werde auch die FTDs kaufen, denn die Mega-Box ist definitiv zu teuer geraten.

Aber da ja immer nur von einer limitierten Erstauflage gesprochen wird, bin ich mir sicher dass noch weitere folgen und die werden dann wohl auch -weil ja nicht mehr limitiert und wahnsinnig selten- billiger sein.

Mit den FTDs bin ich persönlich jedoch gut bedient. Die sehen schön aus und klingen gut. Und zudem spiegeln sie auch die Original-Alben wieder und alles ist so, wie es damals den Fans auch zugänglich gemacht wurde. Nur halt im besseren Sound und um die sich nicht auf den LPs befindlichen Songs ergänzt.

Und wenn ich mal ganz viel Zeit habe, stelle ich mir dann meine eigene COMPLETE MASTERS zusammen.

PS: Ich glaube allerdings, dass auch LET'S FORGET ABOUT THE STARS auf der Box sein wird. Falls nicht, wird's bei der zweiten Auflage garantiert nachgeholt.

Wenn die Master Takes auch wirklich direkt von den Master Bändern kommen würden (wie bei 30 #1 Hits u.ä.) und ebenso restauriert und aufgearbeitet wären, dann wäre Preis und Anschaffung gerechtfertigt. So allerdings ist es eine nette Sammlung für diejenigen, die zu viel Geld haben. Essentiell notwendig stufe ich das Ding nicht ein.
