Elvis hat nun mal am 21. Jän. 69 Hey Jude aufgenommen ob es so manchen Fan passt od. nicht u. deshalb halte ich diese Diskussion für überflüssig. Es gibt X Versionen von diesem Titel von allen möglichen Interpreten u. eben auch von Elvis.

Für mich ist das der schlechteste Song den Elvis jemals gesungen hat, darum meine Aussage darüber, gefällt mir schon von The Beatles nicht.

Besser wäre " Inherit the wind " gewesen, als diese Gurke, aber das ist meine persönliche Meinung.

Meiner Meinung nach wird diese Box eine Bombe. Außer CD 1 wird sicher das meiste interessant . Anderer Mix aber auch was z. B. CD 5 betrifft da gab es die UD Master noch kaum regulär zu kaufen. Die Import Among Friends kann man klangmäßig vergessen u. dann hören wir fast alle Mastertakes zum Ersten mal in optimalen Sound. Auch auf der CD 3 sind einige unveröff. Mastertakes dabei. Möglicherweise noch den einen od. anderen Out - Take dazu so wie wir das ja auch von der From Elvis In Nashville Box bzw. Back in Nashville Box kennen u. dann bleibt kein Auge trocken.
Obwohl man schon sagen muss die Mischung der 5 CDs ist schon etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig.
Der Leitfaden ist Aufnahmen in Memphis aber Sun u. Jungle Room Session hier zu vereinen da liegen schon Welten dazwischen u. ich glaube gerade die Sun Aufnahmen hat sicher jeder mindestens 10 mal im Schrank stehen.

Hoffen wir mal, dass die Box wirklich eine Bombe wird, Robert! Mit Schaudern denke ich an die "Elvis Back In Nashville"-Box zurück, als Herr Ross-Spang mit aller Gewalt probiert hat die Backgroundsänger, die im März, Mai & Juni 1971 mit Elvis live im Studio arbeiteten, zu eliminieren. Meiner Meinung nach gehört deren Gesang zu den jeweiligen undubbed Liedern, da sie zeitgleich aufgenommen wurden. Da Elvis mit seinem Handmikro im Studio umherlief, kann man die von Ross-Spang elimnierten Backgroundsänger bei einigen der Lieder sogar noch leise im Hintergrund über Elvis' Mikro hören (bleeding)! Aus meiner Sicht hat er damit einige dieser Lieder schlichtweg verhunzt!
Noch schlimmer die CD2 von "Way Down In The Jungle Room": hier hat er teilweise so viel Hall auf die Lieder gegeben, dass es sich anhört als würde Elvis in einer großen Montagehalle singen. Und wer schon einmal im Jungle Room war, wird festgestellt haben, dass dieser relativ wenig mit einer Montagehalle zu tun hat.
Und was hat das jetzt mit der neu angekündigten Box "Elvis Memphis" zu tun? Nun, im Juli & Dezember 1973 bei STAX sowie im Februar & Oktober 1976 im Jungle Room waren die Backgroundsänger auch live dabei ... und ich befürchte schon wieder schlimmes (und nein, ich bin kein großer Fan von Herrn Ross-Spang).

Thomas eine positive od. eine negative Bombe , hoffen wir das Beste. Ich persönlich glaube nicht dran dass er bei der Jungle Room Session den Backup Gesang weglässt weil diese Aufnahmen in dieser Art haben wir ohnehin schon auf der Our Memories Of Elvis Serie .
