Für mich ist einer der tollsten Blues Songs: "Hi-Heel Sneakers" von Tommy Tucker (Robert Higginbotham).
Put on your red dress, baby Lord we're goin' out tonight Put on your red dress, baby Lord, we're goin' out tonight And-a dress some boxin' gloves In case some fool might wanna fight Put on your high-heel sneakers Wear your wig-hat on your head Put on your high-heel sneakers Wear your wig-hat on your head Well Im pretty sure now baby You know youre gonna knock em dead Put on your high-heel sneakers Wear your wig-hat on your head now Put on your high-heel sneakers Wear your wig-hat on your head Ya know you're looking real fine I'm pretty sure you're gonna knock 'em dead

Hier mal den original Text, so wie ihn die Clovers sangen: Fool, fool, fool that I was to fall for you. Fool, fool, fool that I was to fall for you Oh what a fool I was, to think you could love me too. Well, the first time that I saw you, you looked so doggone sweet When you walked down the street, I said 'There goes my meat.' Fool, fool, fool that I was to fall for you Oh what a fool I was, to think you could love me too. I can't forget you darlin', though I'm left out in the cold. I guess I still love you, and will always feel the same. [I know it doesn't rhyme!] Fool, fool, fool that I was to fall for you Oh what a fool I was, to think you could love me too.
Und hier Elvis: Fool, fool, fool That I was to fall for you. Well, fool, fool, fool That I was to fall for you. Well, I know what a fool I was To think that you could love me, too. Well, well, when I first met you, baby, Well, I knew I couldnt win, But I just kept right on trying, cause trying is no sin. What a fool, fool, fool, That I was to fall for you. Well, I know what a fool I was To think that you could love me, too. Well, when I first met you, baby, Well, I knew I couldnt win, But I just kept right on trying, cause trying is no sin. What a fool that I was to fall for you. Well, I know what a fool I was To think that you could love me too

Boy mah Boy
(dontcha know youre) ridin with the king

O-Ton war, glaube ich: "...keeping the blues alive during his career." |

Gospel. |
