Zitat:
Die Frage, warum Hilton diesen Vertrag gemacht hat ist: At first, Hilton was outraged when he learned that Col. Parker had moved into the hotel and had b. As a result, the Colonel began working ourt of his een assigned free office space, accomondations and room service. Elvis only played the hotel eight weeks a year. Why should his manager be taken care of so extravagantly by the hotel? When it was explained to him that Parker was more than just an eccentric talent manager and was one of the casino's best customers - to the tune of one million dollars a year - Hilton quickly did the math. The hotel was paying Elvis one million a year to perform and Col. Parker was losing one million dollar a year at the tables. Hilton changed his mind about Parker and rolled out the red cxarpet. When Elvis death negated his upcoming August appearance at the Las Vegas Hilton, the Colonel's office privileges at the hotel were revoked. Barron Hilton no longer required his services as a $50.000-a-year consultant. As a result, the Colonel began working out of his Los Angeles office. Zitat:
.... but Steve Binder, hired as the producer and director, had other ideas. He wanted to do a show that has a gritty, rock 'n' roll edge to it, one that would recapture the "old" Elvis. The Colonel exploded when he learned that Binder wanted to deviate from the tried-and-true Christmas concept. "At first the Colonel held the line: "He's gonna do twenty-four Christmas songs and say Merry Christmas everybody", says Bones Howe, the show's music director, in an interview with Musician magazine. "Finally at one of the meetings we started talking to Elvis. And it was a lot of trouble, but the wheels began to grind. The Colonel was no dummy". Parker finally gave in and allowed Binder to do the show his way, but demanded that the special contain at least on Christmas song. Binder agreed, then later removed the Christmas song at the last minute without telling the Colonel. Geändert von gast-20100125 (13.03.2009 um 21:27 Uhr) |

Falsch!

Mal ganz nebenbei und völlig Off Topic: " According to Steve Binder, Presley had actually ejaculated whilst performing. |
