The release is produced by Joseph Pirzada and Co Produced by Joseph Tunzi. The Limited Edition book accompanying the DVD is written by Tupelo’s own Roy Turner and involves many people including the fans who were there, to the likes of Scotty Moore and DJ Fontana. The book is available with the DVD for a short time only.

The DVD Contains:

Recently discovered UNRELEASED FILM of Elvis performing 6 songs, including ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ and ‘Don’t Be Cruel’, live in Tupelo Mississippi 1956. Included we see a live performance of the elusive ‘Long Tall Sally’ seen here for the first time ever.

Further unseen footage contains backstage, the evening show, parade, Tupelo 57 and many more. Please note that the DVD contains specially licensed footage by Fox.

Interview with Elvis at the 1957 Tupelo show NEVER BEFORE HEARD!

The DVD Audio section contains 21 tracks of the two shows from Tupelo 1956 concerts.

LIMITED EDITION SPECIAL BONUS: The Book - Tupelo’s Own Elvis Presley.

The book contains nearly 200 pages of Elvis in his birth town of Tupelo Mississippi. Born into plainness poverty in 1935, Elvis and his parents left Tupelo in 1948 for a better life in Memphis. Elvis triumphantly returns to Tupelo like a tornado in 1956 for a welcome reception bigger than that of President Franklin Roosevelt’s visit to the city in 1934. The book is written by Tupelo’s own Roy Turner, Elvis/Tupelo historian.

See the hundreds of photographs of Elvis both on stage and backstage from the Tupelo events of 1956 and 1957. Included are many unpublished photographs, ticket stubs, newspaper articles and the first known Elvis signature, all seen here FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER! Available for a short time only.

Ich frag mich langsam warum immer alles limited editons sein müssen......und ob es überhaupt welche sind

sicher eine mehr als überfällige und hochinteressante VÖ, aber nicht soooooooo fantastisch wie es oft den Anschein hat.
Kommt drauf an wie das gefilmte Konzert dann wirklich daherkommt

Das ist genau das, worauf es ankommt. Farbe hin oder her.
Wir haben aus den Fünfzigern nicht ein Live-Konzert, nicht EINS.
Das war mehr als überfällig.
Da nehm ich gern ein miesen Klang und ein griesliges Bild in Kauf. Und das alles für den Preis.

Das ist geschenkt.

grosse teile des videos gibt es doch schon. und den ton dazu gibt es doch auf irgendeiner box. im endeffekt musste doch nur beides zusammenhäkeln und fertig.
wenn videotechnisch jedoch erheblich mehr material dabei ist, als es bisher schon gab, dann ist das sicherlich eine gute veröffentlichung.
da jedoch auch noch ein buch dabei ist, denke ich dass der preis bei weit über 50€ liegen wird - oder hat da schon jemand genauere kentniss?

wieso? die aufnahmen kannst du doch, wenn auch gestückelt und sehr oft stark gekürzt, in jeder zweiten elvis-doku sehen.
kein plan wo es das zeug am stück und mit maximaler dauer gibt, aber sonst wäre doch auch in der ankündigung doch nicht die rede von "Long Tall Sally seen here for the first time ever" - da gehe ich von aus, das der rest mehr oder weniger bekannt ist. ich bin absolut kein 50s-fan, deshalb weiss ich es halt nicht genau.

aber mit dem preis hast du wohl ca. recht. wird wohl knapp über 30€ liegen, da HMV es für £22 anbietet

Ich kenne so ca: 3-4 min, wenn überhaupt. Sicher, diese Aufnahmen kann man denn auch überall sehen.
Auf dieser Box(DVD) sind allerdings 5 vollständige Lieder plus Clips von 2 anderen Songs- plus, plus, plus...

ich bin absolut kein 50s-fan, deshalb weiss ich es halt nicht genau.

aber du musst doch zugeben, der satz mit long tall sally zeigt uns doch, das der rest scheinbar mehr oder weniger schon vorhanden ist.

natürlich ist so ein gesamtwerk um klassen besser als das stückwerk hier und da. und mit 30€ ist auch der preis angemessen, vor allem da ja noch ein buch dabei ist. liegt aber wohl daran, das offizielle stellen da mit im boot sind. auf reiner elvis-fan-abzocker-basis hätte das ding wahrscheinlich eher 70 oder 80€ gekostet.
